It doesn’t matter who you are or how stylish you’ve become, you grew up with some Champion in your closet. It was a staple. So I can fully understand (and get behind) why designer Todd Snyder jumped at the chance to collaborate with the iconic brand to create a men’s sportswear line.
The debut collection, titled “City Gym,” is inspired by vintage photos from the New York Athletic Club and pieces from the brand’s history. Working with Champion’s Ned Munroe (Chief Design Officer) and Joanne Sessler (Design Director), Snyder scoured the vast archive of sales catalogs and vintage samples to find styles and fabrics that would work seamlessly with his love of classic American tailoring. The result? A 35-piece capsule collection with each garment carrying an authentic 1950s Champion label, and “T. SNYDER” stenciled on the neck – just like gym class or when your Mom sent you to camp. Get excited.

The “City Gym” collection will be available in select North American stores this August.
