With the release of their debut album, The Heist, less than a week away, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis just kicked it up a notch. Earlier this summer, the Seattle duo received a lot of attention when they dropped their single, “Same Love,” in support of Washington’s Referendum 74 to legalize same-sex marriage in the state. Working with Music for Marriage Equality, this seven-minute video directed by Lewis and Jon Jon Augustavo should help push the ballot forward this November – as well as tolerance in the hip-hop community at large.
