TERRYWOOD

If you’ve spent some time on the site, I think you realize that I’m a big fan of Terry Richardson. Because when it comes to American photographers, there are few as unique as him. Born in New York City and raised in Hollywood, Richardson began taking photos while attending Hollywood High School. And seeing as how it’s been a while since he was cramming for finals, it’s crazy to me that it’s taken him this long to get his first solo exhibition in Los Angeles. That all changes tonight.

TERRYWOOD, held at OHWOW Gallery, features over 25 of his latest photographs, on view from Feb. 24 through March 31. Inspired by the multiple facets of Hollywood life, the show unveils a series of images of the famous locale as seen through Richardson’s eyes. From celebrity to broken dreams to kitsch, it’s the best and the worst of what Hollywood represents.

If you’re in town, be sure to check out the opening reception for TERRYWOOD tonight from 6-9 p.m. to be among the first to see the exhibit. And yes, Terry will be in attendance. OHWOW Gallery is located at 937 North La Cienega Boulevard in Los Angeles.
